Hot Tin Roof was appointed to make a splash about ORCA Hub‘s latest research results. The largest academic centre in the world for research into robotics technology for offshore energy infrastructure, the ORCA Hub’s aim is to advance robotics and Artificial Intelligence technologies for the inspection, repair, maintenance and certification of offshore energy platforms and assets.
We recommended a high-impact media relations campaign to showcase the innovative work of ORCA Hub and engage industry in the research. Hooked around a demonstration to industry stakeholders, the PR helped to highlight how using autonomous robots could take humans out of hazardous work environments.
From one press release, we secured over 245 pieces of coverage with a reach of over 17 million. Our carefully planned media relations campaign saw ORCA Hub appear in a range of national broadcast outlets including BBC’s Reporting Scotland and Good Morning Scotland, and STV News. National coverage included ITV.com, The Telegraph, The Scotsman, The Herald and The National, while global hits included CNBC and Czech Radio.
Underpinning the campaign was a carefully constructed vertical media approach across a range of selected industries chosen to reflect ORCA Hub’s business objectives. Features included Offshore Journal, Energy Voice, Engerati and Windtech International.
“Annie and her team at Hot Tin Roof worked closely with the ORCA Hub and their Partners to promote the Hub’s increased activities with the renewables sector. Communication was prompt and professional, and the follow-up support invaluable. We were very pleased with the increased enquiries post-campaign.” Dr Lindsay Wilson, ORCA Hub Manager
