Twelve-bay facility opens at Eurocentral business park following wave of major new tenants
A new electric vehicle charging hub has opened at Maxim Park in Eurocentral, bringing ultra-rapid charging to one of Scotland’s busiest business parks as it continues to attract major new tenants.
The twelve-bay facility, developed by Source, features 160kW ultra-rapid chargers which allow most electric vehicles to ‘charge and go’ in around 15 minutes, based on industry accepted charging session data. Situated directly off the M8 – one of Scotland’s major transport routes connecting Glasgow and Edinburgh – the hub is also easily accessible via the M73 and M74 motorways.
The opening comes as Maxim Park experiences a significant upswing in occupancy. HSBC arrived earlier this year in what has been described as one of the most significant office lettings transacted in Scotland in recent years. Policy Expert, Virgin Media O2 and infrastructure firm Amey have also relocated to the park, bringing hundreds of additional workers to the site.
The charging hub offers contactless payment options and 24/7 customer support, with an emphasis on user-friendly design. The facility is powered by renewable energy, utilising infrastructure from SSE and technology from TotalEnergies to provide both environmental benefits and convenient charging.
Deepa Chandrasekaran, Managing Director at Source, said: “Our Maxim Park hub arrives at an exciting time for Eurocentral, as the business park welcomes a wave of major new tenants. With twelve ultra-rapid charging bays, we’re providing the reliable infrastructure that businesses and their employees need to make the switch to electric vehicles with confidence. Whether it’s fleet operators, commuters or visitors, this hub ensures fast, dependable charging in a prime commercial location.”
Source plans to deliver 300 new ultra-rapid hubs across the UK and Ireland over the next five years, with the Maxim Park site representing the company’s continued investment in Scottish EV infrastructure.
