CAMBRIDGE, UK – 2nd September 2026 – IntelliSense.io today announced a significant investment from SEP, a leading investor in enterprise technology companies, alongside strategic investments from Mitsubishi Corporation and Hitachi Construction Machinery.
The investment will support the company’s next phase of development, including international expansion, continued investment in product development and the strengthening of its commercial operations.
IntelliSense.io’s AI-native platform helps mining operators and asset owners to continuously identify and automate optimisation opportunities that have traditionally been too complex to capture. By combining real-world physical process constraints with each site’s own configuration and data, the platform makes real-time decisions through autonomous execution agents across critical mine and plant operational processes. This enables higher throughput and metal recovery while lowering energy use and reagent consumption. In deployments where the technology is fully live, outcomes include up to a 5% increase in throughput, 2% increase in recovery, and 8% reduction in reagent consumption, at operations already considered among the most optimised in the industry. IntelliSense.io’s technology is in production across more than 24 deployments at Tier 1 mining companies spanning 8 countries and over 8 commodities.
Strategic Advisory Board
Mining leaders Mark Cutifani (former CEO, Anglo American), Nick Popovic (former co-head of Glencore Copper and Zinc Marketing and Chair, Kazzinc), and Nev Power (former CEO, Fortescue Metals Group) have also each invested and will join a newly formed Strategic Advisory Board. Collectively, they bring decades of leadership experience across some of the world’s largest mining companies and provide a direct operational perspective on what AI-enabled Decision Systems must deliver at industrial scale.
Commenting on the investment, Sam G. Bose, Founder and CEO of IntelliSense.io said “Mining sits at the foundation of every supply chain the world is racing to secure. Our Scientific AI encodes the actual physics and chemistry governing a process, not just patterns in data, so it can make consistent, explainable, and real-time decisions for both people and machines. This investment lets us take that capability to every major mining region in the world.”
Keith Davidson, Managing Partner at SEP, added “IntelliSense.io is closely aligned with SEP’s strategy of partnering with founders to build leading enterprise technology businesses that solve complex and critical problems for demanding global enterprises. Sam and the team have built a strong foundation, and we look forward to working closely with them to support international expansion, continued commercial development and the company’s long-term ambitions.” SEP’s investment was led by Keith Davidson, Daniel Muranda, and Zahra Thiam.
Industrial AI for Complex Mining Operations
Enterprise AI is moving beyond generic tools towards domain-specific applications that can deliver measurable outcomes. At the same time, Physical AI is bringing intelligence into real-world operations, while mining and critical minerals are increasingly recognised as strategic sovereign infrastructure. As demand grows for trusted and controllable AI systems, IntelliSense.io sits at the intersection of these converging trends.
A key differentiator is IntelliSense.io’s proprietary industrial AI architecture, ‘Owned Inference’. IntelliSense.io believes the market is moving past the assumption that foundation models will absorb every vertical and horizontal models cannot embed the first-principle physical constraints and site-specific configurations that industrial processes demand. Owned Inference delivers domain-specific models and calibrates to each site. The platform can also intelligently route between frontier and open-weight models by workload, grounded in physics rather than opaque weights.
“Mineral processing is vital to the global economy, but it remains among the most complex industrial environments in which to deploy AI at scale,” said Daniel Muranda, Principal, SEP. “IntelliSense.io has built a differentiated platform that combines deep process expertise with technology that can autonomously improve operating decisions in real time. Its strong blue-chip customer base and expanding product footprint give us confidence in the company’s long-term potential.”
