Source, the ultra-rapid EV charging network backed by SSE and TotalEnergies, has launched Source Rewards. Built with PowerGoodies, the programme gives drivers points every time they charge, exchangeable for vouchers from Tesco, Costa Coffee, Asda, Uber, JD Sports and dozens of other retailers.
Every kWh charged at a Source hub earns two points, worth roughly a £5 voucher for every 15 charging sessions. New members can add up to 2,000 points, around £10 in vouchers, on their first day alone; including a 1,000-point bonus for their first charge, plus smaller bonuses for verifying an email address, adding a mobile number and linking a charging card. Referring a friend earns both people 250 points once the new member completes their first session.
Members download the free PowerGoodies app, link the charging card they already use at Source – either a SourceConnect RFID card or a roaming partner card – and start earning automatically with no change to how they charge. Points can be redeemed for vouchers spanning supermarkets, fashion, food and days out. Members can link up to 10 charging cards to one account, so a whole household can build points together.
Deepa Chandrasekaran, Managing Director at Source, said: “Charging with Source has always been about getting people back on the road quickly and reliably. Most of our hubs are at retail destinations, so it made sense to reward drivers with vouchers for brands they already use. Source Rewards turns charging they’re already doing into something they can actually spend, whether that’s the weekly shop, a coffee on the way to work or a treat at the weekend.”
The launch marks PowerGoodies’ first partnership in the UK, following existing rewards schemes with EV charging networks in Belgium and the Netherlands.
“Drivers in the Netherlands and Belgium have shown us that a public charge feels different when it gives something back,” said Jan van Ottele, CEO of PowerGoodies. “Source is building a fast, reliable network designed around the driver, and it’s the right partner to bring PowerGoodies to British roads. From today, every charge with Source counts for something beyond the miles.”
Source operates ultra-rapid hubs across the UK and Ireland, featuring 150kW chargers as standard that let most drivers charge and go in around 15 minutes, based on industry accepted charging session data. The network is powered by renewable energy, backed by a 99%+ uptime target and continuous monitoring, as Source works towards a target of 300 ultra-rapid hubs by 2030.
Source Rewards is live at every Source hub in the UK from launch, with new hubs joining the programme automatically as they open.
The PowerGoodies app is free to download on the App Store and Google Play.
